CSAA Focus of "Trundlebed Tales Radio"
One-room schools and The Country School Association of America will be the subjects of Sarah Uthoff's next episode of "Trundelbed Tales Internet Radio Show" to air live on March 9th and available on her website thereafter.
Sarah, CSAA’s own Listserv mistress, has started a different kind of radio show. This show is broadcast via a website and can be heard all over the country. While the show is on live you can participate several ways. You can listen by 1) having your computer on the website, or 2) calling in and listening to the broadcast through via phone. You can become part of the show by 1) calling in and talking on air or 2) chatting live on the website during the show. After the live broadcast you can access the broadcast on the website or downloaded it from iTunes.
Sarah Uthoff has enjoyed a life-long interest in Laura Ingalls Wilder and her Little House series, and has become a speaker of note for the Iowa Humanities Speakers Bureau.
Sarah Uthoff received both her history education BA and her Masters of Library Science from the University of Iowa. An active Wilder researcher, Sarah is a regularly featured speaker at the annual Laura Ingalls Wilder Remembered Day at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch. She has also been featured at the Laura Ingalls Wilder: New Perspectives Conference and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Teacher Day, both sponsored by the Ingalls Homestead in De Smet, SD. Sarah's consulting work has included designing the Laura Ingalls Wilder Girl Scout Patch Day at Usher's Ferry Historic Village in Cedar Rapids and a training session for the staff at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Burr Oak, Iowa. Her unique programs can be customized for the type of group (adults, children, mixed), and the type of presentation desired, (scholarly or crafty). Sarah can speak as a modern day researcher or costumed as either a young or older Laura.
Episodes of her talk radio show to date have been dedicated to Laura Ingalls Wilder, but the March 9th episode will highlight one-room schools. It will include information on country schools and their history, plus a discussion of the CSAA. The episode will air Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 10 PM EST, 9 PM CST, 8 PM MST and 7 PM PST.
